What is baby brain training?
Baby brain training focuses on training the right side, rather than the left side of the brain. The right side is responsible for memory retention, creative and imaging inabilities. Intuitive senses are also heightened. The left side of the brain is responsible for logic and reasoning.
How can it benefit my child?
Right sided brain training can expand your child’s learning potential.
A newborn baby’s right sided brain learning capabilities are at its highest. The right brain hemisphere is larger much earlier than the left, which develops much later about the age of 3 years.
The rapid rate of learning of the right brain significantly decrease as the child becomes older. If the right side is untrained it’s potential can become somewhat dormant.
We would use key performance indicators to assess how well your child’s progress on a regular basis.
What will the training session include?
Individual sessions are delivered by one or two trainers. Group sessions will be shared with multiple children between one trainer.
The session are split into three sections:
- Flashcards
- Core academic learning
- Music studies
What is the duration of the sessions?
The sessions are usually 30 minutes maximum due to the limited attention span of young children.
Where will the sessions take place?
Sessions will primarily take place at The Maqam Centre or virtually, however extra sessions may be branched out to surrounding areas.
What is the cancellation policy?
We will require notice. See our Terms and Conditions for further information.
What are the payment options?
Bank transfer in advance. No other payment forms are accepted.
What age can my child start training?
Newborns can start training straight away with black and white materials as their retina has not fully developed yet. Newborns require visual stimulation for the retinal cells to develop fully.
It’s important to start early as possible because those that do develop speech, letter recognition and are able to become fluent readers much quicker.
What training methods are used?
A combination of Glenn Doman, Shichida and Heguru flashcard presentation methods will be used to activate the right brain.
A “Montessori” style learning approach is used with individual academic learning activities.
Music studies enhance aptitude for music, instrument initiation, developing aural skills, developing the brain to aid the academic areas. It also helps with focusing, concentration, memory and longer attention span.
How often does your child need to be trained?
The more frequently the better, as the child will be able to learn at a quicker pace. As such, two to three sessions per week is our recommendation.
What are the cost of individual and group sessions?
- Virtual = £22.50 per child
- Venues: £20 per class. Visit our Booking page for more information.
What if I have pre-paid and my child cannot attend?
You may receive credit for another BBT class if we receive notice. See our Terms and Conditions for further information.
What are the health and safety precautions that have been put in place during Covid-19?
Health and safety is a priority and we take measures to minimise any risk of infection.
We would therefore ask all children and their parents or carers to use the sanitising gel provided before entering the venue.
All learning materials and instruments are disinfected after use.
Children and their parents must sit one metre apart from another child, where possible. BBT is most effective when children can see adults’ faces, their expressions and sounds. Face coverings are optional.
